Amy Keller Leykind, M.S. CCC-SLP

Experience:

Amy is the founder and one of the SLPs at CLaSS.  She specializes in working with children with language-based learning disabilities, children with auditory processing difficulties, oral-motor and articulation difficulties and those on the autism spectrum. In addition to her practice, Amy has served as a consultant to several elite private schools in New York City.  Her therapy sessions are structured with clearly set, achievable goals. She targets these goals through creative and exciting activities.  Amy has an astute clinical sense, warm energy, and genuinely loves working with children.  She quickly becomes an integral part of each child’s team, working closely with families and other disciplines including occupational therapists, psychologists, and physical therapists, as well as classroom teachers. Amy views her clients as members of the society at large; she has a keen understanding of her clients need not only to master skills in the therapeutic environment, but to generalize these skills to their daily lives.  As a parent herself, Amy is sensitive to the needs of a client’s family and dedicates time providing feedback and suggestions for home carryover.

Lynn T. Dillon, M.A. CCC-SLP

Experience:

Lynn is a speech language pathologist from the New York area and has been working in the field for almost 20 years.  She specializes in working with children with speech sound /articulation difficulties but her other areas of expertise include auditory processing, expressive language, and reading remediation.   Lynn has worked for almost 15 years at a school for children with social language difficulties and enjoys running after school social groups in our office. When working with a client, Lynn becomes involved in every step of the process; evaluating and recommending services, setting attainable goals, creating individualized educational plans, implementing goals in therapy and helping students transition skills to everyday life.  Lynn’s therapeutic approach is playful and child led yet she skillfully guides her clients towards goal mastery without her clients even realizing they are doing “work.”  Lynn is a team player and an advocate for her students. In addition to providing services in our office Lynn also enjoys working in our clients’ homes and schools to help to achieve realistic communication goals in a natural setting.

Carly Berkman, M.S. CCC-SLP

Experience:

Carly has practiced as a speech and language therapist in a wide variety of school based settings (preschool through high school). As an SLP in the school setting, she supports her clients’ language skills in the classroom and throughout the school day.  Carly has provided services through Early Intervention for children (0-3 years) in Connecticut and New York City. She believes that the most progress is made when therapy is approached in meaningful and practical ways for her clients. Carly utilizes a dynamic approach in therapy and veers away from a “one size fits all” formula, individually designing treatment plans to meet her clients’ needs. Carly truly enjoys working with all age groups, which is one of her favorite aspects of being a member of the CLaSS team. She currently provides services though CLaSS in the office as well as in clients’ homes during after-school hours. She works closely with families and other educators to provide strategies for carryover of skills outside of therapy. Carly is an enthusiastic and energetic clinician, always prepared to go the “extra mile” for each of her clients and their families.
